Conclusion  The findings of this review conclude that combining those two management systems, a matrix is built that could guarantee costs and waste reduction, while simultaneously complying with the safety and quality standards  There are some barriers mostly due to the different philosophy of the two systems but that with proper choices of tools and practices this combination can be successful  LSS + FSMS may constitute a protective shield leading food industries to resilience and sustainability
